COP29 is over – and the “results” made nobody happy

COP29 in Baku is (finally) over. It focused on critical climate issues but failed to deliver bold actions. Key “outcomes” included setting a $300 billion annual climate finance goal by 2035 and finalizing rules for carbon trading. However, fossil fuel phase-out decisions were delayed to COP30. Furthermore, critics highlighted insufficient ambition and lingering concerns over accountability and implementation.
